i signed up to deliver telephone books last week so last Friday me and ds delivered over 600 phone books (ds loved it by the way, i wasn't forcing him!!!)
i was told to post them through letter box and not leave them outside on door steps etc. so it took me and ds just over 4 hours to deliver these books and post them through every single letter box

just been for a walk to the shop and the person who has done my area (my road included) has just chucked every single one just on the floor in front of everyone's front door when i know from experience they will fit in every single letter box - even the rediculously tiny ones.

now shall i ring the organiser woman? we would have the same one as our areas are next to eachother. its just pissed me off cos i spent probably twice as long doing it properly for the same amount of money.

what do you think? or am i being petty and shall i just leave it?

If it were me I'd be annoyed but I would keep it to myself, I wouldn't want to grass them up, either.

kettlechip · 10/03/2009 14:50

Agree with above. YANBU to be pissed off but I wouldn't actively ring to report it. If the organiser happened to call me I'd probably mention it though..

juicychops · 10/03/2009 14:56

ok i wont complain about it. but when they do the checks to make sure everyone got their book hopefully the people they check would have had their book ruined or stolen!

I think I would ring and say something, but I can be petty like that.

Blu · 10/03/2009 15:02

Oh, ours is always left on the front path - I thought that was standard!

Simplysally · 10/03/2009 15:03

Mum and Dads are left on their front step. Maybe the person thought they'd rip if they were posted through the box?

Idrankthechristmasspirits · 10/03/2009 15:07

I'd be more pissed off if it was put through my door. It means i'd have to heft it outside again for the recycling collection!

YABU. It's none of your business.

Bathsheba · 10/03/2009 15:08

I'd ask, if oinly to check to the future what the correct proceedure is..?
Ours has always been left on our doorstep - I suspect for ease but there may be a reason for it...

So check with the organiser woman just to clarify if you have done more work than needed rather than this person having done less.

nailpolish · 10/03/2009 15:13

just be happy in yourself that you did the job properly

juicychops · 10/03/2009 15:27

the woman clearly said put them through the letter box they are thin enough. she said only leave them out if they really wont fit and leave it out of sight of people in the street
so i did what i was supposed to and they didn;t

It's understandable that you're annoyed, but ringing the organiser will make her think you are a whiny-arse and potential trouble-maker.
