Last week I had a very high temperature, shivers, headache and felt generally unwell. I asked DH to take the day off (we have four dcs, the 2yr old and 12 week old are at home) but he refused. This week he has the same virus and expects to stay in bed meaning I have to take all of the children on the school run.......

Thats not at all fair, men and their bloody man flu.

Are you feeling any better now.

Leave the 2 youngest with him and tell him you will be back once you have dropped the others at school.

That's so unfair! Men are rubbish when they're ill.

Definitely leave him with the younger 2. Surely he can manage that for an hour or however long it takes you (a quick cup of coffee somewhere wouldn't go amiss!).

ridingjoker · 10/03/2009 07:58

just leave them. give him taste of his own medicine. what can he do about it? and what harm will come to dc staying with their dad for an hr? surely he can veg on the sofa, stick dvd on for 2yr. then he just needs to deal with 12 week old

Divineintervention · 10/03/2009 08:00

That's what I think....thanks!!!
Note to self: When did I become this woman with this backward thinking husband??

since he got man flu.

BalloonSlayer · 10/03/2009 08:03

Yes.

This is what happens, isn't it.

DH was unwell a couple of weeks ago. He said "You seem to have lost some of your sympathy" after retiring to bed just when I needed to do some work in the bedroom.

I said: If you give me this illness, will you be taking time off work so that I can go to bed?

Um, errr.

insertwittynicknameHERE · 10/03/2009 08:04

Do what mylifemykids says and go for a slow walk home and a coffee before you get home. He will be able to manage with you two youngest dc.

HecatesTwopenceworth · 10/03/2009 08:42

Have you reminded him of his attitude towards you last week.

as ye sow, so shall ye reap!

troutpout · 10/03/2009 08:58

ah...same old...same old

sing abba songs loudly around him, prod him with a stick occasionally and make the kids cry all day.
He'll soon be back and work

He's got a man cold, which should taken very seriously (), as this sketch shows:

What a douche! Tell him that as he's malingring at home, he can at least help out. Give him the two youngest and pop out for a coffee for an hour or two.

That's the least he deserves! YANBU
