well am I?????

Just the last 2hrs has been a nightmare - let alone the last 2 days.

Went to get the DS's from school, cold, wet and windy out there so frozen by the time I picked them both up. 5 minutes into the walk home I realised that the pushchair had a flat tyre AGAIN. Had the pump with me so pumped it up - but this time evidently not a slow puncure as by the time we got home (15 minutes later) it was totally flat again.

Really needed to go to the shop, but was expecting the electrician to come - plus didn't want to use the wheel any more than necessary with it flat.

Went to unlock the front door and discoveed I'd lost my key - was routing in my pocket for a tissue to wipe my hands with after faffing with the wheel to pump it up and obviously pulled it out then.

Then walked to the phone box to ring my BF who has a spare key (my mobile is broken again so couldn't use that). Got there and had a mental block, so had to ring another friend to get the number off her.

Then ran out of change - so decided seen as though we were virtually at the shop to go anyhow and get some change and the stuff I needed to get. When I was there decided to pick up some more cheese after I left the block I'd paid for in the shop yesterday (they had no record of it being left - but I know for a fact it wasn't in my bags when I got home). What did I find on the shelf? A block of cheese with the exact same price (they're priced by weight) and BBD as the one that apparently wasn't put back on the shelf yesterday........I'm not convinced personally......

Got back to the phone box and realised I'd forgotten to ask for change so only had £2 coins - no-one around to ask if they had change so had to use that.

Thankfully got hold of friend and she's been and dropped off the key and (obviously) we're back home. But we're all cold and tired and wet, and I think I've misseed the electrician. Which means my fridge, washing machine, dishwasher and oven are still out of action.

That means I've not washed DS1's sheets - and as I've not finished unpacking all the boxes had limited bedding for him - so I'm now going to go and open all the remaining boxes to find which one I put the rest of the bedding in (used it as padding for quite a few boxes of stuff).

So - can I scream????????????????

Bummer. Scream away.

Lilyloo · 03/03/2009 17:00

Yes scream
Had crappy day here too and being wet and cold on the school run makes it all seem much worse!!!!

StercusAccidit · 03/03/2009 17:04

Yeah but if you scream you will prob get a sore throat and that will add to the gripe list

Just try to suffocate yourself with a pillow now get it over with

Poor flower.. had days like this where nowt goes right

xx

Have you cried tears of rage yet? I always find that helps.

FAQinglovely · 03/03/2009 17:10

no I don't tend to do tears of rage in front of the children

good news on one front - I hadn't missed the electrician - just called the letting agent to check and he said that if he (the electrician) had come round when I was still out her would have called him (the letting agent).

He's got his own "man" (was waiting for the landladies bloke) that he's going to ring and she should hopefully be around in a few minutes.......

So may have working appliances again by this evening - although I think I may order pizza tonight as I'm too knackered to do anything that remotely resembles cooking.

poor you - did you find your cheese?

FAQinglovely · 03/03/2009 17:15

no the cheese never turned up - I think I must have left it at the checkout.

Did ring this morning (like Iwas told to yesterday) and was told that the girl on that till didn't remember putting anything back on the shelf.......

I'm not convinced...........so I'm 95% certain that the block of cheese I bought a little while ago is the SAME block of cheese I also bought yesterday.

I had to laugh, although i'm sure you're not. it sounds like the sort of day you will laugh about in the future. Get your bf to get a takeaway tonight, I think you deserve it.

well it's sorted - feeling slightly sort of blonde about the electric thing - but not totally - as the letting agent didn't get it either.

The fuse switches in my fuse box are the opposite way round to most normal people one. up is on, and down is off (whereas all the fuses boxes I've ever seen have been down for on and up for off).

So I could have sorted it yesterday - oh well - the fact the letting agent looked in there and said "no that's all fine" as well as me makes me feel less daft (and in my defence - it's extremely high up the wall so can't actually see the "on" and "off" markings on it).

We're having cheese on toast for dinner (DS's request! - so nice and easy - and it means I can use my cheese (YAY!) and my oven (YAY!)

still have a puncture to fix mind..........and washing to catch up on...........
