Yes, they are not usually a problem, and it hasn't been switched off as far as I know (I'm technologically illiterate, I only do type and send!) so I'll ask my DH. But the ads are obviously Mumsnet approved - all the usual suspects, Boden, White Company etc.

Yes actual proper pop-ups. The same as all the usual ads on MN, but in pop-up form! they are definitely MN endorsed, it says so. Very bad form!

I dont have any pop ups but do have adverts on the left now instead of the right and they seem to overlap the first bit of the thread list.

I've not got any popup ones. My computer doesn't like the on page ads though. Now, when I try to open big threads, it jsut freezes up on loading the ads and so I can't read anything over about 80 posts.

That's what I have. Sorry I may have described it wrongly (as I said, technologically illiterate!) but they are big, and in front of the text rather than beside it and I can't get rid of them!

Soory, I mean to say, they go away eventually, but you cannot click to make them go away immediately, only click to respond to them!

YANBU. I don't mind when they pop up on the right of the screen but the ones on the left really irritate me. (tut- this advertising revenue malarchy- as if our posting genius isn't enough for MNHQ).

YABU - there is a bloody huge Boden one that hides half the miscarriage forum at the mo. Its really annoying me.

I agree - I have a pop up blocker and never have a problem but i was reading a thread earlier and a flipping dove ad popped up!
