To wonder why American Reality TV is often really over dramatized and badly edited?

A case in point is Ramsays Kitchen Nightmares USA. It's full off the 'booooink' crazy sound effects and so over the top. It's like Ramsay on Speed.

I watched one tonight where he bought the head chef an engagement ring, told him to propose to his girlfriend, then announced they would be getting married that night, it was all arranged, in the restaurant. The bride wept, but I would have wept too.

hahaha...I hate all American Reality Shows..they are glossy overdone and irriating...just a little less than some of their Dramas

But they are also brilliant, never fail to make you laugh and then cry within an hour.

That one where they knock down then totally rebuild houses gets me every time.

True...but Reality TV in general gets me goat...I can just about do the odd Wife Swap or Holiday Showdown!

where do you think they got their ideas?

I remember watching the American version of WifeSwap and there was a disclaimer on at the beginning saying something like

"Unlike the British version of the show, some scenes are staged and edited for entertainment purposes"

I'm sure the British ones are too but the Americans go way overboard with it.
