To think my mother makes Catherine Tates Nanna look like a pussy cat!

Honestly, my mother should come with a health warning!! She is a fecking nightmare - we have just gone to Nandos - took DD - we are sitting eating and then my mum pipes up "See that woman over there, she is going to get one of these" making punching actions to her chin . I looked round and i think the woman was having a giggle with her partner about something on her phone. I just kept my head down and hoped my mother would shut up - i should be so lucky! Nup - my mum just glared at the poor woman and kept muttering that she was going to punch her through the wall!! FFS!!! she is a 73 year old woman! The woman may well have been chuckling because we always have a leg of chicken left over from our meal and we always take it for the dog and olives for my DP - it does look a tad sad tbh, but so what - I felt so embarrased. As we left her partner gave me a really funny look, i smiled and he gave a weak smile back as if to say - blimey, you do a really good job taking those nutters out for the day!!

I reckon i have the most embarrasing mother on MNet

I think i grew up thinking the world was a whole shower of bastards. This was after listening to my mothers accounts of phone calls to gas companies, the council etc - funny that everyone official who she ever has to deal with is rude and a bastard but "i told them"!! Oh and doctors, they are bastards too, especially if they don't give you antibiotics regardless of whether you actually need it or not. It almost wore off on me, where i would automatically be rude to people at the council offices, receptionists at the doctors etc - but i soon grew out of that thank God.

She is so much like the "nana" apart from the common loud voice, but i think that is pretty much the only difference. Nice as pie the one minute and then "hup" and you know that its all gonna kick off!!!

It is really embarrasing and not a good example either.

Blimey! For everybody else's sake, I sincerely hope you do have the most embarrassing mother on MNet - but for you. At least you can keep a sense of humour about it!

LucyEllensmummy · 25/02/2009 17:27

There has to be more embarrasing mums out there or is my mums behaviour SO bad?

Helen31 · 25/02/2009 17:28

I think you've just set the bar too high, scaring them all off. Besides, you might set your mum on us...

pingping · 26/02/2009 09:18

You have my sympthies

My Nan used to be the same when we use to go into Sainsbury cafe she would shout at the fat people coming in and say things like

Ooooo look at them fatties over there look how much food they have got Also black people was a major issue for her and when she saw a black person she would shout look at that darky. Always having to apoligise for her.

VERY EMBARESSING.

LucyEllensmummy · 27/02/2009 14:47

yes, pingping, that is very embarrasing!! My mum has a medical condition whereby she looks black and you would not believe the amount of racist comments we have had. LMAO a the thought of your nan saying it to my mum - walking sticks at dawn!!!!

oh LEM the "then HUP and you know it's all gonna kick off!" is just hysterical

i'm sorry she must be a trial to be with but that is just so funny

PlumpRumpSoggyBaps · 27/02/2009 15:26

LucyEllensmummy- if it weren't for the fact that neither of my nieces are called Lucy Ellen I'd accuse you of being my sister. You are not alone-our mother (74) says similar things plus is one of the most bitter women in the universe. She often says things like 'I was going to punch her' etc.

Helen31 · 27/02/2009 15:33

LEM - you aren't Catherine Tate, are you? She must have got the idea from somewhere...

ChippingIn · 28/02/2009 22:37

LEM - I think you should become more familiar with the take away places near you! I thought my Mum was bad enough, but I see I get off lightly really!! (My Mums is a little hard of hearing and thus is a little loud when she talks, so whatever opinion she does have, the whole place knows about it!!). Luckily she's not 'quite' as un PC as your Mum, well - not yet - she seems to be 'improving' with age!!

LucyEllensmummy · 01/03/2009 11:29

oh well, my mum is getting worse
