DC's made to feel unwelcome at cousin's house

At the weekend we went to see my husbands cousins little baby at there house with my 2 DC, everytime my DC's played with there childrens toys they made a big fuss and even took the batteries out of a toy so they could not play with it. They were both well behaved and all they were doing was playing like they should be and not running riot.

I got the impression they just wanted them to sit on the sofa and not touch a single thing.

If it wasnt one thing it was another I just bit my tongue and was fuming and have decided not to visit there again. Is this being unreasonable. I have never experienced this kind of behaviour at anyone elses house and have now seen a different side to this family.

They sound a tad arrogant to me. They obviously think their precious little darlings have toys exclusively for them and not to be shared with children visiting. Bloody selfish if you ask me.

Reminds me of my mothers aunt. She had her first and only dc at 48 and thoroughly spoiled her. When my two sisters used to visit them my aunt used to stop them having things that were her dd's. They wanted some lemonade once and my sister went to pour herself out a glass and my great aunt said "Don't touch that. That's for Jennifer"! My sister was gobsmacked shocked as being in a family of 3 kids at the time, they were taught to share.

If they ever visit your house do the same to them. I bet they wouldn't like THEIR kids treated like it!
