To expect that if i 'do' the shopping 'unpack' it and 'put it away' that when i wanted to eat it there might be something left for me ?

Yes, get your own hidden stash. I do, in a high up cupboard. It usually contains chocolate, biscuits and sweets. And if it is found dh is on a diet anyway and ds's can't reach.

upagumtree · 23/02/2009 22:34

lol. IKWYM. Same happens here too. Shopping comes in, the vultures descend...and then it's all finished. Then they have the cheek to compain that there is nothing to eat!!

Lilyloo · 24/02/2009 21:14

upagumtree if i hear that phrase again ....

lol lily...have a high cupboard...it doesnt work. They only climb higher to get to stash!

Bellebelle · 25/02/2009 00:01

I have a 5 pack of Wispa's hidden behind the cook books. Mmm...think I'll have one now actually (Reading the massive diet thread has driven me to it).

Stinkyfeet · 25/02/2009 00:16

Yes, I have a secret stash of Hula Hoops in the boot of the car. I am planning on extending my range of stash as it has been so successful!

YANBU. You need to take a leaf out of The Little Red Hen's book. "Who will help me to eat the shopping?" "No you will not!" etc etc

PaulaMummyKnowsBest · 25/02/2009 09:18

I once had a secret stash of crisps hidden in the "cleaning" cupboard.

Since no body but me does any cleaning, my stash was safe

mylifemykids · 25/02/2009 10:07

MadamDeathstare...you should hide your stash in the DTD's room amongst the chaos! Fantastic hiding spot IMO!

BirleyShassey · 25/02/2009 20:16

I have found success with the salad drawer in the fridge, never touched by teenagers.

KTNoo · 25/02/2009 20:22

Yes nothing but a secret stash works.

Acutally it's dh who is the culprit in this house. If he can't find anything nice he'll eat the dcs' organix crisps and sugar free gingerbread men.

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 25/02/2009 20:25

Ooooooh! I'm liking beind the cookbooks as a hiding place

Yip my dh has also been known to eat the cooking chocolate in times of desparation!

GrimmaTheNome · 26/02/2009 22:42

Yes, the cleaning cupboard is a good place to hide stuff. I mean, if DH ever actually does anything that requires a cleaning cloth and gets it for himself, then I guess he's entitled... its not happened yet.

upagumtree · 27/02/2009 10:24

Tesco shopping is being delivered soon. So i'm tying to think of the best place to stash all the goodies.

daisybaby · 27/02/2009 11:24

Try on top of the kitchen cupboards - my stash is still undiscovered

upagumtree · 27/02/2009 11:43

Top of cupboard no good lol. DH keeps random bits and pieces (such as lightbulbs and string etc)hidden up there. However have just hidden a bar of chocolate and a packet of kitkats behind the medicine basket in the top cupboard and a multibag of crisps in my slow cooker They'll never think of looking there

gscrym · 27/02/2009 11:50

I'm lucky, no-one else in the house eats white chocolate so it's all mine.

Try stashing chocolate in your wardrobe or in your drawers. The only reason my ds or DH would go in there would be to put clothes away, which neither of them do.
