He was the one who declared himself and I am keeping my distance so to speak. But he kept on at me to do some work for me and the only thing I could think of was to clear the cardboard boxes and other junk from the garage and take to the dump. So then he came back and said write it all down so I can give you a price! Cheeky bugger.

ah. you misunderstand the notion of charity then. And also what "keeping my distance" means. And adult notions of expectations. And what's fair.
He seems to be reasonable in expecting a wage for a job you have given him .

S1ur · 22/02/2009 02:41

Yeah clearly a tosser. screw him.

oh no wait that may not be the answer....

S1ur · 22/02/2009 02:42

(btw my answer may be influenced by other things beer)

Pan · 22/02/2009 02:44

S1ur · 22/02/2009 02:53

no! really? ace, glad that has worked out better.

Pan · 22/02/2009 02:55

that notion of 'ironing things out in a relationship'?? Well, our ironing board is ALWAYS out!! And the iron on full steam....
night. See you again.

MumOfBaby · 22/02/2009 09:35

YANBU. He's cheeky and shouldn't offer if he wants paying.

AnyFucker · 22/02/2009 12:15

declared himself ?

what a curiously old-fashioned turn of phrase....

he is a cheeky bugger btw

mamas12 · 22/02/2009 13:36

Sorry havn't been back.
declared meaning that he was the one who told me he always loved me and if only my xh had told him we would be divorcing then he wouldn't have married his wife he would have waited for me!
Of course I had no inkling so that's why I've kept my distance, but he has repeatedly offered to do things for me to help me out, I thought it was just an excuse to see me tbh so have dodged contact quite well, but I have caved on this I think because, well 1) it does need doing 2) he has truck to take the stuff away 3) we wouldn't be alone My kids would be there 4) it would only be an hours
So this last txt has made me think cheeky bugger
