The thread about maple syrup did it.

I need to.

We had a very healthy chicken and roasted pepper salad for lunch.

Will my DC be irreparably damaged?

MuppetsMuggle · 18/02/2009 14:51

mmm pancakes with jam

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 18/02/2009 14:53

Ooh nutella - I must buy some.

Yum - i love pancakes!!!! I might have them for lunch aswell on Tuesday as a trial run before making them for tea.

Does anyone do savoury ones to start with? These are the ideas I've had - roasted butternut and mushrooms with cheese, and good old cheese and ham combo. Any recommendations??

ToiletRollCover · 18/02/2009 14:53

Pmsl @ visions of fox-chunks in paupers tears!!!

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 18/02/2009 14:59

I do savoury ones sometimes

Chilli jam and feta cheese
Cheese and balsamic onions
Cheese and spring onion
Cheese and pineapple
Bacon and maple syrup
Garlicky mushrooms and a thick cream/white wine sauce

I sometimes make them with coconut milk rather than plain (yums)

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 18/02/2009 14:59

coconut ones with sweet fillings obviously.

Oh and another thing you can do is fill and roll pancakes with either wilted spinach and ricotta or bolognese sauce, white sauce and cheese, oh, or fajita type chicken and peppers etc then put in an oven dish and bake for 20 minutes.

skay · 18/02/2009 15:21

I used to make DC's pancakes for Breakfast every morning.

Now I say to Them that they have gopt to be really good during the week and then they can have panckes for breakfast at the w/end.

They love them filled with nutella.

duffpancake · 18/02/2009 15:36

Curses on you spudmaster! I am trying to wean myself off my didn't-know-you-really-really-needed-it-til-you-saw-it-in-Aldi gadgetry addiction.

(filled with marmalade and butter, then flamed with brandy in the pan, for short-cut crepes suzette. Maybe not one for the kids. Though they love the flaming part)

ExtraFancy · 18/02/2009 15:40

Ooooh TDWP, we did the spinach/ricotta pancake bake last night - was amazing! I put tomato pasta sauce over it and some grated cheese...mmmmmm
