To feel all wibbly about DH taking the children on an adventure next week...

..I know I'm probably being unreasonable, but I feel all wibbly about it!

He wants to take our 3 boys aged 15, 6 and 4 away for 4 days down to Cornwall. I can't go as I have to work at the weekend and it seems it's a boys weekend anyway.

On the one hand it's wonderful that he will do it, they will have a great time, I will have 4 days of peace But on the other, will I spend all 4 days wondering if they are ok?

I will be busy as I have work as I said, and need to go out on Friday night and I am much looking forward to not being woken up in the mornings.

I totally trust DH, they do all have such fun together. Is it my control freakiness? Must be!

I am planning to do this with my boys when they are a little bit older. I am not going to be feeding them beer or take them lap dancing and I doubt your DH is going to do so either. What's to worry about?

I think you should plan something nice for yourself and enjoy the freedom.

I think its fantastic. My DH would have the shock of his life if he took our 3 on his own anywhere

how lovely for the boys to get some dad time and I'm sure by the time they get back you'll have missed them and be all refreshed ready to start again

now, can he collect my 3 on his way or should I stick them on the train

You are right, it is fantastic and I will enjoy the time off, but I am a mummy and we are made for worrying isn't we

ABetaDad, I'd soon know if he took them lapdancing the 2 youngest couldn't keep a secret for toffee He says they will go for nice walks, go to the beach and visit his BF who lives down there.

Dizzy, I have discovered you live in Scotland, I'll get DH to pick em up on the way Twill only be a few hourd extra....

thank you shall have them packed and ready and if he rings just before he arrives I'll even send them down the path so he doesn't have to come in

I hope they have a lovely lovely time and more importantly you manage to relax and enjoy it - you never know, it may become a regular thing and you'll obviously have to fill that gap in your life with spa breaks/city breaks/shopping in NY!!!

I'd settle for a spa weekend in Hull (no offence to Hull residents )!

It has been something I have been looking forward to as the mum of 3 boys. I figured that at least I would occasionally get some weekends when he'd do the 'boys' thing....maybe I just didn't think it would be yet! He has taken them to his mums in Somerset overnight before and that was fine...wierd but fine...very quiet!

Dizzy, I'm sure he'd appreciate you sending them down the garden path...would 2 of them be ok on the car roof?

dizzydixies · 14/02/2009 16:44

is there any other way for them to travel

Squirdle · 14/02/2009 16:49
