totally with you.
spooky needy and disturbing.

TheDrunkard2009 · 13/02/2009 17:35

Yuck

Kathyis6incheshigh · 13/02/2009 17:36

MIL has a houseful of scary pretty porcelain dolls and she says it is because she was a child in the war and not v well off so never had any dolls at all when she was a child so she is making up for a deprived childhood. I just have to resist the temptation to arrange them into compromising positions when I visit.

fruitshootsandheaves · 13/02/2009 17:36

especially these they are just a bit freaky.

2shoesformyvalentine · 13/02/2009 17:36

Kathy

Can't she move on and treat herself with something else ?

Kathyis6incheshigh · 13/02/2009 17:43

Everything she does is making up for the war. She has the same excuse for eating a lot of butter.
Maybe I should get her one of those really scary baby dolls for Xmas though - they are waaaay better than her porcelain ones.

sobanoodle · 13/02/2009 17:44

Sleep well tonight all of you who clicked on the second link...

TsarChasm · 13/02/2009 17:44

I agree. Dolls are creept too.

Why do grown ups collect anything? It's sort of odd

TsarChasm · 13/02/2009 17:45

'CREEPY'!

OMG that link is v disturbing.

thesockmonsteroflurve · 13/02/2009 17:46

OMG I collect dolls, but they are more like this

2shoesformyvalentine · 13/02/2009 17:50

lol thay are a bit better.
confesion, we have a whole stack of dolls, as due to my lack of dollys as a child, dd has at one time or other had them all(baby born, tiny tears type) and she won't let me sell them.(but I will)

ah, leave 'em to it.
it keeps them busy, and out of the way of the sane section of society.

cory · 13/02/2009 18:00

Thankfully my MIL was evacuated during the war, to the US where she had a whale of a time and loads of boyfriends, so she feels no need to fill her house with the Scary Stuff.

SweetAudrina · 13/02/2009 18:05

They're horrible arnt they? I was once bought ONE and everyone decided I was "collecting" them. I ended up with about 8 of the buggers shoved under my bed because I felt too guilty to give them away

Geepers · 13/02/2009 18:25

I am with Tsar. What is the point of collecting anything?

Why have dozens of the same type of thing cluttering up the place?

LauriefairycakeeatsCupid · 13/02/2009 18:34

Those reborn baby dolls are so weird. I've always thought there was a Dom Joly comedy sketch in one of those (obviously a rather sick one )
