To think that between 5 and 6am is not a good time to collect recycling?

A few months ago our council changed the rubbish/recycling collections. Our recycling gets collected between 5 and 6am every other Friday. Which is really annoying because it means you get treated to 20 minutes of the sound of wine bottles crashing into one another constantly. I would rather be asleep! I am glad they are not doing it at rush hour any more, but why can't they collect them later?

That's really bad! Isn't there some law against making loads of noise between certain hours (like when you beep your car horn). I'd ring the council and complain - I bet you're not the only resident pissed off at the early morning wake up...

I've probably just made that bit about the law up, but it's worth a shot.....

It might be worth contacting the council. I suspect that they would be surprised to find out this was going on.

We had the same problem (although not so early!) and the company was doing it at 6.30, despite the fact that the contract with the council said that they couldn't start until 7. It took a couple of repeated complaints, but they did sort it out in the end.
