Wheelie Bins

Tomorrow is bin day so everyone has put their bin out tonight ready for it.

As bloody usual I have a bin bag that wont fit in my VERY full bin.
Would I be unreasonable to put said bin bag in neighbours only half full bin?

Ask them first.

Tidey · 12/02/2009 22:29

Only if you ask them first. My neighbour sometimes uses our recycling boxes if his are full, but he's asked if it's okay. Some people could get very awkward over weird stuff like that.

MaureenMLove · 12/02/2009 22:29

What time will they pick them up? Could you sneak it in now, in the knowledge that she'd know nothing about it?

Personally, me and my neighbour share bins. If mines full, I use hers and vice versa.

It's all a load of rubbish afterall!

LuckySalem · 12/02/2009 22:31

They're normally here at about 8am which is why everyone puts them out at night.

Maybe I should keep it this time but talk to her and see if I can do it next time my bin is full as I wont see her till after they've collected now.

My bin is never more than half full and I wouldn't have a problem with it.

Maybe you could reduce the amount you throw away though.

You are bloody lucky! My bins haven't been collected for 3 WEEKS now.

Last Thursday, it snowed, so fair enough, but today - they haven't appeared again!!! Have no clue when they might be thinking of pitching up now!

FWIW, IF my bin were half empty (which it NEVER is) I would have no problem with it.

LuckySalem · 12/02/2009 22:35

SD - I have 2 recycle bins that are full too! lol.

Seriously we just have too much rubbish

Haribo - Ring your council. I did and they sent them out twice that week!!

I was slightly worried when my neighbour went through the bottles in my recycling bin. He took some away as the chap was about to put them in the lorry. Had many conspiracy theories. He thinks we're alkies etc.

Turns out he was brewing his own - bonus! - He gave us some of his home brew as a 'thankyou' for the many bottles - now we just give them straight to him and get some full ones back in return!

RESULT!! lol

I ended up keeping it but have seen her since and she's said anytime I have too much I can put it in as long as the bin shuts.

Its fine if you ask.
My chavvy neighbours always fill my bin up with their beer cans(some bags i pull back out my bin are full up with nothing else but empty cans!) and other cr*p, as their own bin is always overflowing. They usually leave the lid on mine open with no room for my own rubbish. I've had to have words with their landlord(housing association) about it. I might of let them if they asked first though.
