I ordered a top from a web site of a children's second hand clothing shop. I ordered a top that cost 5.99 plus 2.00 P&P, there was a discount for a sale code and that left a balance of £4.99. Now when the top arrived the reciept was for £5.

Now I know I got the item on sale and I know that it is only a penny BUT AIBU in thinking about asking for it back?

Yes.............. What can you buy for a penny?

LoveBeingAMummy · 08/02/2009 20:18

I know, its just that little voice that keeps saying but its your penny and if they do this to everyone.....

I dont think you are TBH. If you can be bothered. It may only be 1p, but it is stealing really, to take more than you agreed they could from your card.

YNBU if they do that to everyone how much are they making??? I would ask for it back, and hopefully they will get charged for doing so and stop them doing it to other people..

All those pennies soon add up...

callmeovercautious · 08/02/2009 20:20

Perhaps they had a disclaimer about no card transactions under £5?

IloveBrucie · 08/02/2009 20:21

How much is your time worth? How long will it take you to reclaim your 1p?

Just never buy from the the website and name and shame them, far more effective

Who was it?

I think that's pretty off. You can't charge people a random different price to the one advertised, even if it is only 1p.

CherryChoc · 08/02/2009 21:10

I probably wouldn't ask for it back if it hadn't actually inconvenienced me, but I would complain, sometimes I switch money between my bank accounts so that it goes out of my main one and into the "card" account (so I can keep track mainly!) - that account doesn't have an overdraft and if I am overdrawn at any point during the month (even by 1p) I get a £35 penalty charge! Obviously I keep a bit of a float in there just in case but if I didn't know about the charge and this was the way I found out I'd be pretty pissed off.
