no it wasn't, I had been forced to watch with dh and we missed the goal!!!!! Mind you at least he isn't an Everton supporter!

nancy75 · 05/02/2009 22:24

lol, the game was between liverpool and everton, because they are both liverpool teams its called a derby, you nutcase!

tiredsville · 05/02/2009 22:24

YANBU, there is something really gratifying about pissing football fans off

CarGirl · 05/02/2009 22:25

LOL, only just read the thread title again

scrooged · 05/02/2009 22:25

LOL at Derby v Merseyside. You really do love football, don't you?

scrooged · 05/02/2009 22:26

There is something gratifying about pissing football fans off, you are so right!

oldraver · 05/02/2009 22:26

Who are Merseyside ??

spongebrainbigpants · 05/02/2009 22:26

PMSL at your total lack of footballing knowledge!!

scrooged · 05/02/2009 22:27

I HATE football! It show's doesn't it!

OP posts:
CarGirl · 05/02/2009 22:27

DH wants to add that Derby played in a derby against Nottingham last night too

scrooged · 05/02/2009 22:30

Ahh, we won! That's where I mixed it up.

I still hate football. I can't see the point in watching a bunch of overpayed monkeys kick a ball around a field.

MaryMotherOfCheeses · 05/02/2009 22:31

LOL at Derby and Merseyside.

But why so vindictive?

I don't like football. But I can see why showing ads during a game is stupid.

spongebrainbigpants · 05/02/2009 22:31

Yes scrooged, it does show, but it cheered my dh up no end when I read out your thread title to him!

(He's a Liverpool fan, btw, one of those pesky Merseyside teams! )

scrooged · 05/02/2009 22:31

Not stupid. Funny!!!!!

Amapoleon · 05/02/2009 22:33

Hahaha fantastic thread title

CarGirl · 05/02/2009 22:34

I don't mind watching a "good/interesting" match but that only works if you're watching recorded stuff and someone tells you it's worth watching! All the diving and wasting time passing irritates me.

scrooged · 05/02/2009 22:35

Ok. I screwed up the thread!

They should ban football from the TV. Not everybody likes to watch it.

2shoesformyvalentine · 05/02/2009 22:36

no sorry yabu
imagine it was something you were watching and enjoying

scrooged · 05/02/2009 22:38

Virgin do this all the time. Especially when I don't pay the bill on time. Bastards!

OP posts:
mm22bys · 06/02/2009 07:26

They interviewed a grown man on TV last night who looked like he was in tears.

What a life....missing a goal....boo hoo....

mayorquimby · 06/02/2009 11:23

i'm a huge football fan and did enjoy this story. mainly because itv have been so awful already in their football coverage that this was the icing on the cake.and the idea of liverpool supporters in all the pubs looking up at the sceen in dismay screaming for the football to come back on only for it to happen and then their jaws hitting the floor trying to figure out what happened.

oh and because i watched it on setanta so my viewing was uninterupted.
