Dogs trust, Great Ormond Street, Sponsor a grandparent, Traumatised bears and the list goes on..... They have been on all ads all effing day!

I know the answer is to not watch TV during the day but I've only had it on today as I've been working at home and its doing my head in so much I've turned it off!

Before someone says it, I know that these are good causes etc etc but I'd rather chose to donate at my own leisure.......

this is why God invented the BBC (although their self-advertising gets mildly irritating at times)

nope. I get annoyed by them too. The children with flies on their faces etc. All designed to tug at your heartstrings, but all it does is annoy me. Still not annoying as charity muggers though, trying to get me to give them my bank details in the street. Oh, and now they come to my door as well. Grrrr.

plummed · 04/02/2009 20:26

They're not that bad! The ads I mean, the 'charity muggers' are slightly vexing. I tend to point at the buggy and ask "Do I look like I can spare anything?"

The ads don't need to be quite so graphic! I remember when I was pregnant and over emotional I used to cry at them! DP used to get very annoyed when he came home from work to find me sobbing on the sofa!

I think the worst thing is when the have them on kids TV (I know, I know - don't let DC watch Cartoon Network, etc ).

Its really difficult to explain to my DD why we can't adopt a polar bear, dog, dolphin or any other children...

'Only £2pw...'

FuriousGeorge · 04/02/2009 20:39

Grrrrr! I hate them and think they should be banned from children's channels.DD1 wants to adopt a polar bear and a dog, especially a dog because 'it says the dog will write to me,mummy'.

I've offered her £10000000 if she can find me a writing dog.

Tell the DC you have nowhere to keep polar bear/dolphin/monkey
