to think when dh deices the car in the am he shouldn't leave the doors wide open so the house gets freezing

when me and dd are here all day

we both have jeans tshirts and jumpers on and its freezing.

he deices the cr with warm water from the kettle, i know i know
aanyway he fills the kettle turns it on for a bit then goes and tips it over the car, h does this several times 4+ this am and the whole time both doors are wide open.

surely even if he insists on deicing the car this way he could close the door or at least pull it to as he goes past

Mine doesn't get that, either. And it can take a few minutes to do. Every time I close the door he shouts over "Don't do that, I'll be back in in a minute!"

thing is if he only has a kettle in one hand he does have the other hand free to at least push the door too.

I think it's the driver's equivalent of opening your mouth while putting mascara on, i.e. you can't help it - somehow it feels wrong to close the door. v. annoying though I agree.

dh does this too and it drives (ho ho) me up the wall.

Never heard of the mascara/open mouth thing, will have to check tomorrow morning to see if I am doing an impression of a wide-mouthed frog!
