I hate the damn thing. My dh tapes it and will spend next month watching it repeatedly!

Desiderata · 01/02/2009 23:57

It's been a term used in Rugby Union and League for about 120 years! They stole it from us.

It always reminds me of a man furtling with his testicles.

Desiderata · 01/02/2009 23:58

'Tis a sort of cross between scrotum and rummage ..

Alambil · 02/02/2009 00:01

ROFL!!!!

I don't really watch rugby or any sport so had no idea they nicked it

It's a great word!

It is a great word, I agree

There's a fielding position in cricket called 'silly mid-off' ... that always makes me titter with glee.

The world of men is curious place!

jabberwocky · 02/02/2009 00:06

errrm, it's "scrimmage"

Desiderata · 02/02/2009 00:08

Noooo, a scrimmage is something else!

Desiderata · 02/02/2009 00:11

Right! Indeed! The Americans have sneekily deployed a divertionary i in order to conceal the fact that they have stolen the term scrummage from us.

A scrimmage is a picture of a scrotum, and a term used in American Baseball.
