gone back to work recently and these shit newspapers are littered all over the tube, buses et al
i doubt they clean or pay for the clean up of them

if folks buy a paper they take it home, this crap just creates a mess

I UTTERLY agree and I don't see why the papers can't give the honest paper sellers more hours paid work by getting them to clear them up and recycle them.

I do agree, but in fairness when I travel on the overground there are posters and announcements saying words to the effect of 'Metro newspapers and National Express ask you to take your paper with you when you leave the train' and the litter collectors at Liverpool Street seem to be sponsored by Metro judging by their getup.

It's different on the underground but I think perpetuated by the lack of bins.

(I've just realised that Metro is probably distributed outside of London too so I apologise if this is slightly irrelevant!)
