have not sat down all day, was up loads in the night last night with DS3. Is it normal to not do housework, even if there's stuff to be done, if you're tired and want to sit and veg for a while?

Well Northerlurker?

OP posts:
tumtumtetum · 31/01/2009 21:50

Just asked DH and he looked v confused and said "no, why?"

norksinmywaistband · 31/01/2009 21:50

rofl, I was just sitting down to MN having been helping my dsis move flat, have spent the evening, cleaning the windows, skirtings and oven door. I was just going to come on here and see if you all thought I was nuts.......

This thread has just answered it, and to think I felt guilty for leaving the ironing til tomorrow

Note to self, get a life

DesperateHousewifeToo · 31/01/2009 21:51

I failed that test years ago, chewit

girlandboy · 31/01/2009 21:52

Come and live in my house...........it has NO SKIRTING BOARDS AT ALL!!

Whoooohooooo!

thomsc · 31/01/2009 21:53

Is he just visiting or does he live there as well? Are skirting boards down as your responsibility in your written job description?
Is he allergic to water?

Twat.

WTF is he talking about? If he notices something is dirty and it actually really NEEDS cleaning right now, he should damn well do it himself. Dagnabit!

oh am lolling at this thread...
and op, glad you told him to feck orf....
silly man!

TheYearOfTheCat · 31/01/2009 22:04

Could you not just leave a note for the cleaner to do it?

DO NOT CLEAN THE SKIRTING BOARD UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!

Pour some wine instead, like the rest of us.

chewitt · 31/01/2009 22:09

Will just scrape a personlised message for DH in the mud on the muddy skirting board..and then pour myself a glass of red...

OP posts:
ginnny · 31/01/2009 22:11

My skirting boards are filthy. I never clean them and I never notice them until we decorate.
I really don't care and nor does anyone else. Life's too short.
If dp suggested I clean them I'd probably pull one off the wall and hit him with it

Northernlurker · 31/01/2009 22:12

Well I asked him and he said no but could I tidy the dining room instead

I said no

He is now very confused!

chewitt · 31/01/2009 22:13

LOL.

Actually I am ironing atm, so I have changed my mind. You should do the skirting board. If I have to do housework some one else should too

piscesmoon · 31/01/2009 22:17

Can only women clean skirting boards them? If he is the one bothered I would hand him a cloth.

ChippingIn · 31/01/2009 22:24

Northern Lurker, tumtumtetum, isthisyesterday, ginny etc you guys crack me up. This is the best laugh I have had all day (do feel a tad sorry for NL's DH though - poor confused bloke!!).

Shesellsseasshellsbytheseashore - I wouldn't get so much as a tea towel ironed if I was trying to do both - have to use the internet/chocolate/bubbly... as an incentive to get it finished!!

OP - how's the bottle glass of red?

Tell him you might consider cleaning the skirting boards when he stops being a total plank... that should guarantee you never have to do them

chewitt · 31/01/2009 22:27

LOL, wine going down well.

I am using wine as an incentive and my ipod. I can either iron and stop for mn and wine breaks all the time occassionally or I can watch football.

Dh has no objections to my ironing. I daren't ask him if I should clean the skirting boards too. He would probably fill the bucket for me.

chewitt · 31/01/2009 22:44

SeaShells - can't believe you are ironing. I've been on MN for ages now and my skirting boards are still filthy. Herbietea -hope your back is better.

OP posts:
FairLadyRantALot · 31/01/2009 22:49

oh herbie, hoe that back improves...

gosh, I am so lucky my dh wouldn't dare complain....he knows by now I am a crap housewife....luckily it wasn;t that quality he was seeking out to much in a wife, lol.... saying that I wonder what he was seeking out....

LoveMyLapTop · 31/01/2009 22:51

everyone knows it is agiast the law to do cleaning on a sturday eveining

AnyFucker · 31/01/2009 23:01

I think he has passed the twat exam, ack-chewly

get a feather duster and shove it where the sun don't shine

chewitt · 31/01/2009 23:06

Twat Test passed with flying colours. We've got to make up again now and am still furious....where's that feather duster...?

OP posts:
AnyFucker · 31/01/2009 23:08
