have not sat down all day, was up loads in the night last night with DS3. Is it normal to not do housework, even if there's stuff to be done, if you're tired and want to sit and veg for a while?

Personally, I would clean them and then tell him that actually they need painting. It will train him to keep his opinions to himself.

chewitt · 31/01/2009 21:11

LOL, feel a lot better now....

Does he mean it as a euphemism? Cos he really wants you to bend over so he can have his wicked way? If not, he is BVU

lol crackfox, now that's a good one.
get down there and just say "ooooh yes, these really do need a good lick of paint... just be a darling won't you..."
pmsl

or even better "i hate these skirting boards you know, you better get started on replacing them tomorrow"

chewitt · 31/01/2009 21:18

I told him feck off. I think he has gone a bit mad recently. Maybe I should ask him why.

MrsWeasley · 31/01/2009 21:20

Chewitt: Can I ask what he is doing that is so important it is stopping him from doing the job?

Perhaps he just wants the PC to himself?

DesperateHousewifeToo · 31/01/2009 21:24

Junkcollector

chewitt · 31/01/2009 21:24

Mrs W -you're probably right. That's more likely than what JunkCollector reckoned..

Are you serious?

ROTFL

I would have to tell him, in no uncertain terms, to fuck off.

SoMuchToBits · 31/01/2009 21:27

So what useful job will he be doing while you are cleaning the skirting boards?

TheFirstLiffey · 31/01/2009 21:31

Tell him to take a valium, and if that doesn't work and the dust is still bothering him the poor little poppet, tell him to take an anti-histamine.

tumtumtetum · 31/01/2009 21:31

ROFL @ noticed you were dirty!

he was actually waiting for you to notice the skirting boards were dirty?

He would have a bloody long wait around here..

i mean how dirty are they? Have they got luminous green mould all over them?

chewitt · 31/01/2009 21:33

Its just a muddy mark from the buggy wheels...

OP posts:
tumtumtetum · 31/01/2009 21:36

Pah! That's nothing...

justneedsomesleep · 31/01/2009 21:38

well he noticed it! Why didn't he clean them?!
If it was bugging him so much, introduce him to cleaning stuff and put your feet up with a glass of vino!

thisisyesterday · 31/01/2009 21:39

ohhhhhhhhh i think i know what's going on here.

he got hit on the head at work today and now believes himself to be living in 1909, not 2009.

Wonderstuff · 31/01/2009 21:43

My mother does a similar thing, she is a top marter (sp?), she notices the washing up needs doing, she waits for someone to do it, she then gets upset when no one does, she makes a fuss at which point someone will offer, then she insists 'its fine, I'LL do it' its quite stupid. If you notice something there are two acceptable courses of action you either A do it or B if you feel someone else really should be doing it you ask them nicely. You do not wait for them to notice, that is stupid.

ByThePowerOfGreyskull · 31/01/2009 21:44

I would pass him some flash wipes and suggests he gets on with it.

Northernlurker · 31/01/2009 21:47

I'm going to go ask my dh if he thinks I should clean the skirting boards.

chewitt · 31/01/2009 21:48

I think I failed a test of my housewifery skills.
