to have expected someone to pick up an ear infection before the gunk started pouring out of my daughters ear?

this afternoon gunk started pouring out of my daughters ear(3 months old) and after another trip to the GP she has been given antibiotics. She hasnt been well for days, had a temperature and been very weak and whimpery. previous to that she was crying a lot, and definitely out of sorts.

we've spoken to an out of hours gp (who clearly didnt want to come and see us), NHS direct, and went to the child health clinic and had her checked by the health visitor and none of them either checked her ears or suggested checking them, saying various things like growing pains, just a baby etc, making me feel like a bit of a paranoid mother tbh.

i am a little angry that no one made this basic check up which could have prevented a few days less pain for my little one... is this unreasonable? sorry in know there is nothing anyone can do now, just neeeded to vent spleen

sorry next time of you are worried go and see your GP - this is exactly why nulabour dumbing down of the NHS doesnt work - hope LO is ok - if it helps usually once it perforates and starts draining it should settle pretty quickly - does she now have antibiotics!
