oh well done

I wore it for the school run. But as a smart leather sexy little jacket, it demands more effort then the usual trainers and ponytail, so I diffused my hair, but my boots and lippy on and got SO many complements! I was really happy about the jacket, and couldn't stop GRINNING.

Lol at the 'toasted teacake'

I think YANBU at all,in fact t'would be very unreasonable not to buy it and be smug about it.

I love stories of charity shop bargains!

Hangingbellyofbabylon · 29/01/2009 20:19

Good bargain

I got a great bargain yesterday at the Salvation Army shop: this book, a beautiful big hardback anthology of classic children's stories with colour pics on almost every page - for 5 pence! Great condition too

pushchair · 29/01/2009 20:29

Ooh good one!
i got a pair of Laura Ashley curtains, exactly the right size for my front room, were priced at £20 and again came time to pay lady said its half price day and I got them for £10!

vjg13 · 29/01/2009 20:32

Not at all smug. Well done!

BouncingTurtle · 29/01/2009 20:43

Coldtits - you sound seriously sexy in that jacket. You'd better carry a big stick to fight off all those school run dads when you go out in it tomorrow

FuriousGeorge · 29/01/2009 20:49

Fabulous! I bet you looked great in it too.

I went into the SA shop the other week and came out with a beautiful midnight blue floor length silk beaded evening dress, for £9.99.It still has the tags on,so has never been worn.I was very chuffed as I've got a charity ball to go to and had nothing to wear for it.

Coldtits · 29/01/2009 21:43

I am quite pleased with myself, FG, I must admit. I got this jacket from the Cancer Research shop.

Picture of my jacket on my profile!

Course if I'd known the thread would drop off active convoc in 4 minutes flat I'd never have gone to the kerfuffle of posting a picture.....

my dad skip dives in tesco and got a free view box and remote this week - better than the one at home! He found some posh trackie top - the name escapes me - even dh was impresses. leather jacket for ds. new trainers for himself!

twinsetandpearls · 29/01/2009 22:05

I love charity shop bargains. We bought dp some binoculars for his birthday from a charity shop.

BitOfFun · 29/01/2009 22:06

Am highly impressed! DP picked up a painting last week for a fiver, so he could use the frame. We took a closer look, and it's an original oil painting by a Victorian Royal Academy member, and his stuff is going on eBay for at least £1,500!! Felt extremely chuffed with him

Do you reckon you'll have to be permanently groomed to do the school run now? It could be a slippery slope

NeedCoffee · 29/01/2009 22:08

op-YANBU- nice one

mooseloose-you mean he actually went in a Tescos skip and they'd been thrown away?

BOF-thats great!

BitOfFun · 29/01/2009 22:09

You are looking smoking hot in that, girl!

mooseloose · 29/01/2009 22:14

yes hangs around until noone looking - think he means it must be a charity or a recycling one?
gives him something to do while he waits for mum in tesco

twentypence · 29/01/2009 22:15

melpome - I also bought that childrens book in a charity shop and thought I'd done well with $5!

I also got some DUAL jeans for $2, and they retail for over $200.

I love charity shop bargains.

FuriousGeorge · 30/01/2009 08:02

Just seen your photo-you'd better get a damn big stick to fight them off this morning! You look fabulous.

BouncingTurtle · 30/01/2009 08:13

PHWOAAARRRRRRR!!

I'd do you in that jacket, if I was a bloke!
