I was in town today with my mother. She bought a tiny tin of varnish from one shop and asked for a bag. They wern't happy but gave her one anyway ... a big shopping sized bag for one little tin.
Then we went in another shop and she bought a jar of drinking chocolate and a couple of chocolate bars. The woman on the till said "would you like a bag?" and my mum said "yes please" but the other bag she had was almost empty!
So all I said was "why don't you just put them all in that bag?" and I said it nicely.
My mother then snapped "Because I have THAT in there!!" but really nasty. I then said "well there's still room in it!"
Later, I think she felt a bit guilty for snapping because she tried to make light of it but it really annoyed me. I know it sounds petty but she does this all the time, you say one thing out of line and she snaps instantly, however if anyone snaps at her she goes in a massive sulk for days.
So was she in the wrong for snapping or should I just not have said anything?
