For not wanting to add a 10 year old to my facebook??

I have a friend request from one of DS's friends. He's a 10 year old boy, why is he even on facebook? By the looks of his friends list, most of year 5 and 6 at their school is on too.

Is this the done thing for kids now?

A 10 year old isnt even allowed to be on facebook, they must have lied about their date of birth. You have to be 13 (unless the rules have changed?).

I'm not on FB anymore but when I was I added my niece at her request (she's 12) and from then on was forever having to 'edit' myself for her sake! Not that it was her fault, bless her. But no, YANBU.

I have had several requests from friend's children (teenagers) and I have politely just ignored, and when they have mentioned it, I have denied getting their requests, or saying....oh I do not go on that much, I did not realise you have requested, I will take a look next time I am on. And continue ignoring!

several of my friends have 12/13yrs and have asked me to add them

there is no way i want my friends children seeing/readin what i get up to

i sent a polie message to both mums (my friends) and just said i dont add children

my DSS got us all to add him when he was 11 now that he is nearly 13 he is deleting us all!
