Right, I had an apointment for Southern Electric to come and change my old token meter into a new key meter. I was advised to let the electric credit run down as far as possible as all money on the meter would be lost when it was taken out.
So I checked the meter yesterday and realised it was on 34p!! and that was emergency so I thought "shit, I better top that up" so I went to post office only to be told "we don't do those tokens anymore"
Drove to another post office and was told the same thing.
So went home, phoned southern electric who said "we'll send someone out tonight as an EMERGENCY APOINTMENT to get that meter changed. They will be there between 5pm and 10pm. They asked how much money I had left in the meter etc and told me to be careful with it until they'd been.
So I waited all ffing night and the buggers never turned up. The electric went off at 11pm, this meant NO HEATING, no telephone...NOTHING all night.
We were absolutely freezing all night. Couldn't contact southern elec as it was 'out of business hours'.
AIBU to make an official complaint about last night?
(Its still not been done but I have at least managed to find somewhere that is selling electric tokens for the next two weeks).
