to expect the local shops to be willing to return my calls

I am trying to support the beleaguered local shops in my town.

Today, the owner of one shop was not available and the assistant couldn't handle the matter.

When I asked her to leave a message she said: "I'm afraid she's very busy and doesn't like getting messages, can you call her again please?"

To which I replied (after counting to ten) "I'm sure she'll call me back if she wants the business".

AIBU to expect a shop I'm trying to spend £80 at when it would be far more convenient to go to Tescos to do me the courtesy of being willing to return my calls?

YANBU - seems an odd attitude?

I'm sure the owner would not have a problem, but the assistant maybe needs better training

Oh YANBU
