just been reading the p+t parking thread. and saw laods of people saying they take the car seat out of the car when they go shopping. with the baby in it of course. and put them in the special trolleys

i have taken the car seat out with dd4 in it once. and it was bloody heavey so said never again. i also couldnt see over the seat in the trolley, so kepty hitting things/people

how do people lug these seats everywhere? am i a weakling? should i start doing weight training.

Also if i dop manage to carry the car seat, how can i gow about 10inches?

chancelloroftheexCHEQUERS · 21/01/2009 17:50

Posie the seat on the trolley says from something like 11 kilos. Well it does at my sainsbos anyway, am desperate to stop lugging the car seat.

misdee · 21/01/2009 17:51

I always put my ds's in the baby seats in the trolleys.

AlistairSim · 21/01/2009 17:58

Yanbu.

I have never been able to carry a car-seat.

These women are, most likely, Eastern European shot putters.

Or have unnaturally long arms.

Unnaturally long arms.

I think if you start of with a tiny 7lb it's not too bad and then your muscles develop as they get heavier.

Whereas when they start off at 10lb 6oz you haven't got a hope!

I used to leave my car seat in the car from once they were quite young because it killed my back carrying it to and from the house.

Oh yes, they are horrible things to carry- all bumpy and bruising to your shins. Yuck.
