So, i have been trying to sort out the mess that is my DPs accounts, admittedly this is partly my fault. I have been stressed (understatement) and im tired.

I have just had a bath and have just run him a bath. I am sitting here mnetting and he comes down with the printer (we put it upstairs over xmas as it was in the way). I mean now - at 10.10 and im like? What???

Oh, i need you to print me references out for the FMB (he has a meeting tomorrow, which he mentioned in passing today in the car) and can i find his public liability insurance. I said i wasn't sure where the public liability ins was just now - i have had paperwork everywhere. And really do i have to do this now??

"don't worry about it, i'll just cancel my meeting tomorrow".

FFS!!! He has known about this meeting since Friday, ten past ten on a sunday when I have had a fraught weekend and im just trying to chill out - im actually sitting here naked after my bath, is a bit fucking late to start expecting me to do stuff .

SO, AIBU to think, fine, cancel your meeting, we can't really afford the £500 it is to join the poxy rip off building federation thing that tells everyone he is a good builder based on references that WE supply. Its a money making thing if you ask me. He IS a good builder and he IS trustworthy, he doesn't need a few letters on his letter heads to tell people that [really really angry]

Pullk together LEM. You need to with things as serious as they are.

nancy75 · 18/01/2009 22:39

are you married to my dad?
my mum does all my dads paperwork and i have heard this conversation a million times.

fwiw the building fed thing could be worth joining, lots of local councils ect wont employ you unless you are a member, and local councils are the only people really hiring builders/decorators ect at the moment.

LucyEllensmummy · 18/01/2009 22:40

Im trying md, but in what way is it OK for him to spring this on me now when he has actually done fuck all, all weekend.

Just go with it. This once. It's not too bad.I'm preparing paperwork tonight for two important meetings tomorrow.

mrsruffallo · 18/01/2009 22:42

Money worries cause a lot of stress. Tell him why you think it'll be a waste of money.

LucyEllensmummy · 18/01/2009 22:45

I don't understand why you think I was being funny?

am I missing something?

moondog · 18/01/2009 22:50

And get that paperwork filed!

(I'm not sensible.I've regularly rung my dh-the sensible one-weeping and sent my MSc stuff halway round the world to him for him to sort out a graph or a heading or something that i just can't bloody do!)

LucyEllensmummy · 18/01/2009 23:04

Sorry beanie, i know you weren't being funny - i just was laughing at the thought of DP doing it himself!!!

Anyway, i found the paperwork, just typed out all the ref names and addresses and the fucking printer has run out of ink.

In the words of Victor Meldrew: I DON'T BELIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEVVVVVVEE it!

QS · 18/01/2009 23:09

that is what it is like.

Be prepared for the 10 pm sunday request. It is rarely early but may come even later, such as midnight.

'tis very rewarding.

I should kept quiet, shouldnt I?

But, you HAVE to do it.

LucyEllensmummy · 18/01/2009 23:27

ive done it, can't believe the printer just gone belly up though, no problem will email them with the stuff.
