And also just a cynical way of plugging up coming programmes on the BBC.

BBC Breakfast do this all the time - Dancing, Oliver etc. (even managed to slip in imminent Wizard of Oz ref this morning).

But BBC Breakfast can hardly be described as 'news'. More like dull, polite chat. And, yes, it's usually about what's on BBC later that day.

And the BAFTAs are not awards, they're a huge PR exercise, promoting films that haven't even been released yet.
