being unreasonable to go and get the biggest pair of shears we have from the garage - go next door through the hole in the wall that he hasn't fixed (am hoping he will when our dog jumps through and shits on his lawn!) and cut the fucking wind chime down - snip it into small, sharp pieces and insert them one by one up next door neighbours very very tight arse?

Breath!

TheGreatScootini · 12/01/2009 19:23

It is.Take it down.

MadameCastafiore · 12/01/2009 19:23

Yes Brie - they are probably laying away in bed at night hoping you get impaled by it when you walk out of your back door.

Go and take it down now!

OP posts:
HecateQueenOfGhosts · 12/01/2009 19:23

Not at all, in fact I think you have a duty to do it.

GossipMonger · 12/01/2009 19:23

Brie - get out there now and take it down

'tinkle tinkle tinkle..................'

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!

pamelat · 12/01/2009 19:24

I have one too. Ooops.

Its not particulary noisy though. Its wooden so maybe less noisy than metal ones? Or maybe just damn annoying?!

BrieVinDeAlkaSeltzer · 12/01/2009 19:24

Wind chimes, all year round ??? Chavtastic...

GypsyMoth · 12/01/2009 19:25

i feel suitably ashamed now!!

TheProvincialLady · 12/01/2009 19:25

Wooden not acceptable either. Everyone within 100 yards of it hates you

MadameCastafiore · 12/01/2009 19:27

BrieVinDeAlkaSeltzer - he is a secret chav I think - he is a wealth management consultant and journalist!

I hate him though and I want the windchime to unceremoinously fall and go straight into his head one morning whilst he is admiring the big fecking hole in the wall!

YouLukaBeautiful · 12/01/2009 19:29

Poor Brie. What a way to find out!

tattycoram · 12/01/2009 19:29

No no no!!
I hate windchimes.
Cut it down!

HecateQueenOfGhosts · 12/01/2009 19:29

Brie, take it down and your neighbours will be bringing you cakes, and buns and snogging you in the street and stuff.

Monkeyblue · 12/01/2009 19:31

wind chimes always remind me of horror films

beanieb · 12/01/2009 19:31

windchimes are chavvy?

waspriceyp · 12/01/2009 19:32

Well that's nipped my idea of buying a wind chime in the bud.

frogwatcher · 12/01/2009 19:34

Cut it down ... cut it down. The most annoying things invented. Cant understand why people assume everybody wants to hear noise of their choice - just because they like it doesnt mean everybody does. Hate them to bits. My neighbour had one so I put up plastic bags along the boundary every windy summer night and they made more racket blowing in the wind and kept him awake. He took it down thank god - I was about to borrow a dog and chain it to the boundary to bark all night. Drove me to distraction and we even had to swop bedrooms as one of dd's hated it and kept awake. People ought to put them in their houses so only they can hear them if they love them that much. Rant over. I would bring you cakes, buns and snog you to bits if I were your other neigbours.

BouncingTurtle · 12/01/2009 19:35

My mum has windchimes. Thanks for calling my mum a chav

I rather like them, actually.

sausagenmash · 12/01/2009 19:43

Gaaaaaaaaah NOOOO!!!!! Evil! Wrong! Tell me where you live - I will drive down the M4, get my Dad's shears (I only live in a flat) and then drive up to your neighbour and say they have been reported by the chime police and I will make a ceremony of chopping!!

Quite agree, Monkeyblue - very 'Hand that Rocks the Cradle.'

See - only baddies have them, and its in a film so MUST BE TRUE!!!!

belcantwait · 12/01/2009 19:53

OMG! my MIL cut down her next door neighbours wind chimes!!! i hate the damn things but still thought it was the height of rudeness and stupidity to actually cut the darned things down

zenandtheartofbaking · 12/01/2009 19:59

Someone told me that the Japanese take their windchimes in during the Winter months because they're delicate little things and feel the cold!

You could try telling him this little fact and hinting that it will be culturally authentic to do likewise.

The person also said that one name for them is something like "ching ching", for the sound they make. Aaah!
