To have poured myself a very large glass of red wine...

Bloke has given up drinking for new year. He has always been a heavy drinker, and is in the forces, where there is a big drinking culture. But we both agreed that it made sense for us both to cut down. He insisted that he had to stop completely, which I agreed with, as he has never been able to just have one. Not to he extent where it was a serious problem, and he certainly doesn't 'need' to drink, but he is more of a 'session' man.

But I have had a shitty week, and am having the heaviest period I have ever had in my life. I decided to resign from work rather than go back after Mat leave, and turned freelance, working for myself at proofreading and copy-editing. I have a few large projects on, so have been up working past one most nights this week and then up with the baby at half seven. I should really be getting down to some freelance work, but all I really feel like doing is curling up on sofa with wine and MNetting. I will be working all day tomorrow, so have awarded myself a bit of a night off. Bloke says he doesn't mind, but I feel a bit mean, especially as the wine is so delicious, and the glass I am drinking out of was one of his Christmas presents from my sister.

So AIBU, glugging sipping my wine while he drinks water?

i have just started on a very large glass of rose. this is my first week back in work with monster headaches, not sleeping very well and also the heaviest period i can remember having.

sounds like he is fine about it, you aren't having several bottles and as long as you aren't teasing him about his decision, then I don't see why not. it's his decision afterall and as long as you are also being supportive of that most of the time, crack on.

i would love a nice, large glass of red wine but I am working too many nights at the moment.

Have a glass for me too and enjoy!
