DS wanted one of these for Christmas. No, I said, these things look good but they are always rubbish. Auntie Balloon had one when we were little and it was useless.

Someone gave one to DD for her birthday. DCs delighted.

DH greeted me crestfallen yesterday to say that he had spent 35 minutes trying to put it together but couldn't make head nor tail of it.

I did it today and it's COMPLETELY FARKING USLESS!!!!

AAARGH. Is there any other Christmas toy as bad?

YANBU - we have had one of these as well with similar problems. The other thing we hated was etch-a-sketch as we never did manage to draw any proper pictures.

Ha! No neither did I! I was saying to a friend today that I always wanted one but whenever I picked one up I could never get anything except what looked like a convention of TV aerials on it.

And there used to be kids on Blue Peter showing off all the fab pictures they'd created...
