DH works for a smallish, pretty successful company, writing specialist software.
At the beginning of Dec he booked holiday from 29th Dec to thru to Friday.
However, just before xmas one of their sales bods promised a customer something, deadline 9th Jan, and one of dh's colleagues has gone off on early pat leave, baby having come about 3 weeks early.
So DH spent all day Monday working (at home, shut in my office), and all afternoon Saturday and Sunday, to get on top of this deadline. I understand it's necessary, don't argue with him doing it, BUT when I said he should ask for 2 days hol re-instated, so he can take them during other school hols, he said "oh I won't need to, Boss will just let me dissapear for a couple of half-days here and there informally, it'll be OK"
Which means he'll never bother doing it, and in effect DS and I loose out on two days with Daddy.
Plus, I know that the company tend to rely on DH's committment and skill to dig them out of holes, and I think they're taking it for granted.
Wouldn't you want to formally get that holiday back?
