It has been slightly annoying today, think he is teething. Dd has been very good about her velcro brother, and is fast asleep. Dh at football today. Honestly, haven't been able to put him down asleep once today - and only for short periods awake !

But he is so cute. And really, apart from slighty needing the toilet, is it so bad to be marooned to the sofa, eating After Eights and watching the IT crowd on 4od?

Makes me soooooo not arsed to do the whole bedtime thing (I will, I will, just maybe not yet )

Not in the slightest. Enjoy him, it passes far too soon.

AuntieMaggie · 03/01/2009 21:54

No - I would enjoy it too

Make the most of the cuddles and peace while you can.

nooo.. dd is 6 months and a real monkey sleeper - when people used to annoy me tell me helpfully about the loss of time for yourself, how life not same etc they could never have told me what complete bliss it is to have them asleep on you

WalkingInAWonderStuffingLand · 03/01/2009 21:55

yanbu they grow up so quickly

EllieG · 03/01/2009 21:55

Mine is 8 months now and hardly ever falls asleep on me, in fact, does not want to most of the time. I miss the time when she was weeny and loved to. She did recently and was so snuggly and yummy I wanted her to stay there for hours.

smudgethepuppydog · 03/01/2009 21:55

Nope because before you know it your cute 5 month old'll be a huffing great 6ft 16 year old like my DS is who never goes to bed before I do, much less falls asleep on me and I miss those days!

Umlellala · 03/01/2009 21:59

Aw, this is making me all emotional

Loving the term 'monkey sleeper' - it's exactly it!

YANBU, I love cuddling up with my DD (almost 12 months) and snuggling until she goes to sleep in my arms.

I dont do it very often - usually only when Daddy is already asleep and I dont want her to cry and wake him up- but its sooo nice and warm and snuggly.

Want to go and get her for a snuggle now - no no no - she has been asleep for 3 hours and would only be up all night confused!

EllieG · 03/01/2009 22:03

Me too. Maybe mine will wake up soon and then I can have a cuddle and sniff her head a bit.

5inthebed · 03/01/2009 22:10

Love the term velcro brother, very cute!

YANBU. My 6 week old is getting less cuddly, and prefers to stretch out to sleep. No loger will he curl up like a cooked chicken and snuggle

Enjoy him while you still can.

Siriusmewsaysboohoodrwho · 03/01/2009 22:24

Gah!! Now I want to sniff my sons head!! Bad Ellie!!

EllieG · 03/01/2009 22:26

Is not only me then! Go sniff - just do it nice and quietly and he might not wake up
