So it is dd's 3rd birthday and I took her up to see her Grandparents for an hour this morning ,on the way back home I saw a man and his DD come out of their house the dd was about 9 .

Off they go until they got to a house about ten doors away from the first one he knocked on the door ,was there for about ten seconds and walked back up the bath ,him and his dd carried on down the road and he lit up a giant bloody spliff !!!!!

It just saddened me to see this ,what kind of person smokes a joint in front of their dc and at 11am !!

Bath?

How do you know it was a spliff?

ComeWhineWithMe · 03/01/2009 13:37

Path

Because we walking behind him and judging by the smoke and smell it wasn't a normal benson and hedges.

Drum tobacco smells (and tastes) rather like a spliff.............thought doens't have the same effect

Not that I would know what a spliff tastes or smells like or what effect it has

backalleysally · 03/01/2009 13:40

Sad..yes. But to many having a joint is no different to having a glass of wine etc. It is becoming more exceptable.

BigusBumus · 03/01/2009 13:40

YANBU, thats hideous. So DD is being brought up to think thats normal? Nice.

ComeWhineWithMe · 03/01/2009 13:41

I do think it was a spliff but maybe I'm wrong then, it did smell very strong though .

Maybe I have had too many e numbers in the birthday cake and am seeing things .

Where I work a huge number of parents of young kids smoke hash, skunk particularly, even in and around the maternity ward! It's just something lots of people in a particular age and social group do. I also have to remind myself that a couple of my friends had babies quite soon after university and both smoked joints throughout their pregnancies and we all smoked around the kids for some time afterwards (outside anyway). We just saw it as part of our lives at the time and didn't see the harm in it.

believer07 · 03/01/2009 14:38

Well if you think its ok, maybe you should see some of the families torn aparth by the mental illness caused by smoking that filth. I know a bright and talented young man that has turned into a wreck of a human being.

Lauriefairyonthetreeeatscake · 03/01/2009 14:41

yabu, he could have cancer and it could be medically prescribed cannabis

bronze · 03/01/2009 14:45

Ok probably not great but he was looking after his child, you didn't see him being abusive and he was definitely there. Makes him better than a lot of men in my eyes

Pignata · 03/01/2009 14:54

Someone lit up a spliff on the bus the other day. I recognised the smell immediately (from younger days and DS was almost sick. Nobody had the guts to tell the bloke off.

abbierhodes · 03/01/2009 17:01

Laurie come on! That's highly unlikely. If someone is in such severe pain that they have cannabis prescribed by a doctor, they do not go out for a stroll.

LoveMyLapTop · 03/01/2009 17:03

LOL @ medically prescribed!

violethill · 03/01/2009 17:55

Pretty disgusting to smoke in front of kids whether it's a spliff or not really.

memoo · 03/01/2009 18:22

It might just have been a role up fag! DP smokes roll ups because its cheaper but its only tobaco in there

pamelat · 03/01/2009 18:42

YANBU.
