This is such rubbish customer service from the normally good M&S I need to have a little rant. Ordered a white bed from M&S in early October for ds1's room. It was one of those with a pull out mattress underneath that converts into a double. Supposed to arrive early December. Mid December I had an email telling me it was delayed by a week. This morning, internet still showing del date of 10th December so emailed customer services. Got a reply back saying that they had been trying to contact me on Saturday (we were in all day, no call was taken or message was left) and that the white bed was now unavailable - I could either have it in natural (won't go with ds' room) or phone up individual stores to see if anyone had any left.

This pisses me off for 2 main reasons - why could they not tell me this weeks ago, or even when they sent me the mail to tell me it was delayed? Why the feck should I then have to call round the stores trying to track one down, surely they should do it for me as a basic customer service courtesy.

Have written them a nice(!) letter. Have also ordered cheaper and nicer bed from John Lewis. Will not be ordering any more furniture from M&S and regret trusting them in the first place. Grrrr

How frustrating. Blessing in disguise perhaps? You get a cheaper and nicer one utimately.

very odd that they would expect you to ring round stores, their computer system would show if any had one in stock?, i would expect better from m&s tbh

Exactly nancy, I even know it's possible because I used to work in customer services for them donkeys years ago (left on good terms, I'm not an embittered employee or anything!)

Friend of mine had a major issue with a bed order with M&S which started in March and has only just been resolved. Similar story to yours but started with them delivering the wrong bed initially.

But yes, would have expected better from M&S.

I've had some truly rubbish service from magic and sparkle recently.
They didn't deliver my nana's 80th pressie
Repeatedly promised they would and kept putting the date back
Finally owned up to crap service and promised some flowers for the bd itself pressie to follow and then didn't send them either.

I was sooooo angry

Since then I have ordered two things online both with nominated delivery day
They have delivered on neither of the days and sent emails either late in the afternoon or in the evening after I have spent the day off work and in the house

They are a shower

It sounds like M&S need to have a long hard look at themselves. With so many stores going into recievership at the moment, you'd think they'd want to keep their customers as happy as possible, not p**s them off so much that they tell all their friends what terrible service they've had!!

I ordered a white metal framed single bed in the summer, it came on time and the delivery men put it together for me.

BUT they were on a consumer programme with loads of complaints for sofa/bed deliverys not long ago.

Kettlechip YANBU.

Their delivery service is shitola imo

I ordered a mattress back in January or something, cancelled it straight away as Mum offered me an old one.

Mattress arrived, was dumped by door, I rang and they said I had to keep it indoors till they could collect a week or two later

Then they delivered the same fricking mattress, not once more but twice (or was it three times?)
same thing all over again till I refused to sign for the bloody thing one day when I was actually in and had the choice.

I kept having to make silly phone calls saying I do not want this item!!' and I guess if I'd just kept it they'd have strung me up for stealing or something.

Eventually it went. It made me furious tbh.

I am still yet to receive something from them that should have been here on the 13th December.

I ordered quite a few things, they emailed to say edd had altered, fair enough, this came and went, finally turned up the box was not taped up, the delivery man was really embarrassed.

Some crockery was broken, some was missing and two plates were actually the wrong colour.

I am still waiting for the missing stuff - I rang them yesterday and they have now give me an edd of 31st Dec / 5th Jan !

About 6 years ago now we ordered one of those hideaway beds - it did take about 6 weeks to arrive but they did say that at the outset.

Good luck.
