You're at a junction (narrow roads, single lane each way). You see a mate that you want to talk to. Do you

a) wave to him
b) pull over and chat
or
c) stop at the junction and chat to him for 10 mins ignoring the 20 or so cars behind you that cannot get round you - blocking them completely until you decide to finish your (lengthy) conversation.

I have seen about 6 examples of (c) in the last couple of weeks. AIBU to be pissed off at the arogant fuckers?

c

surely if you just lean on the horn they'll get the message and move on.
if not get out and give them a bollocking.

unreal arrogance though to expect everyone else to wait while you have a chat.what is with some people?

MrsMagooo · 29/12/2008 11:05

YANBU - what a wasok!

TheChristmasArmadillo · 29/12/2008 11:09

Horn beeping has no effect - they just merrily ignore everything till they have finished. You can't get around them cos junctions are too narrow.

The first time I assume it was just one arsehole but it's happened several times at different junctions with different cars.

It is infuriating.

that would drive me up the wall. give their rear bumper a tap next time. if they get arsey say you presumed they had broken down because they weren't moving and you were trying to give them a push start

TheChristmasArmadillo · 29/12/2008 11:13

I did seriously consider ramming a couple of them

That happens a lot round here, bloody infuriating!

thomsc · 29/12/2008 20:52

You live in South London too? This happens ALL the time on the-really-far-too-narrow-for-parking-on-both-sides-and-buses-in-both-directions Railton Road.

And no, the horn is not always your best option in this situation, not in Brixton anyway.

Sigh. I'm just lucky my car stopped working just before Christmas.

sunnygirl1412 · 30/12/2008 07:01

Hmmm, MrsPontipine - my best guess would be wazzock - and it gets used round here a fair bit - to be honest, ds1 is the very definition of the word, when he puts his mind to it!
