to be slightly miffed at the amount of 'christmas' gifts we received?

Not quite annoyed but a bit at receiving so many 'christmas themed' gifts. This year we have:

*Christmas plates
*2 sets of christmas salt and pepper sets
*Gold reindeer
*Paint your own snowman
*Christmas baking sets

All very lovely....but isn't it a bit late to use them now? I'm itching to put away the decs already! I guess I'll put them away for next year! Although will use the baking sets as they go out of date in march.

I agree with you. I find Christmas themed gifts a bit naff, for the exact reason you describe - bit late to use them now...

I also got christmas patterned teatowels, oven gloves and candles.

i think the same.

although i will admit to being in a bit of a panic on xmas eve when i realised i had left my cheese board at my mums house, luckily my aunt bought me a xmas tray which was nice and festive for putting the cheese on.

I got a lot of Christmas themed things for DS who was due the day before Christmas Eve last year... he obviously thought they were all naff as he didn't deign to make an appearance until the 27th!

I got Nigella's Christmas book. Guess that's sitting on the shelf gathering dust for 12 months then!
