He has started taking dd fishing, he says the bait need to be refrigerated. I have told him to look out for a cheap second hand fridge or on freecycle so they can be kept in the garage,

Where to other men keep their maggots?

Its in the utility room on the work surface next to the main fridge

TinselianAstra · 26/12/2008 17:06

My Dad always kept his maggots in the fridge.

In a tightly sealed container (I think)

NutterlyUts · 26/12/2008 17:07

No container would be tightly sealed enough for me ;)

my sister once babysat for a couple and in the evening she went to get some cake from the fridge (as she had been invited to do) opened a tupperware box...and a million of the tiny feckers exploded in her face. She screamed the fecking house down obviously.

Drusilla · 26/12/2008 17:09

YANBU - I make DH keep his in a small beer fridge in the garage!

oxocube · 26/12/2008 17:09

Maybe I am unreasonable but maggots are my ultimate Bete-noire. Some people are terrified of spiders or mice; for me, its maggots

My wheely bin had maggots last summer - they empty once a fortnight here and I missed bin day - I had to clean it out and cried and gagged alternately.

IotasCat · 26/12/2008 17:11

A mini fridge is deffo the way forward IMHO

TWINSETinapeartree · 26/12/2008 17:19

I have a phobia of flies so wherever he keeps them I will not be able to enter.

this takes me back to my childhood when my dad used to get maggots for fishing. I don't think mum let him keep them in the fridge. i think he kept them in the garage as it was pretty cold in there.

i used to love racing the maggots.

YeahBut · 27/12/2008 11:36

YANBU

GentleOtter · 27/12/2008 12:21

They keep well for ages in any cool area - we keep ours in the hall where it is very cold.

Blondeshavemorefun · 27/12/2008 13:30
