My 3 yr old and I went to meet a friend of mine with a boy the same age. The boys get on really well and we exchanged Christmas cards. As she handed the card to my son she said
"oh my boy asked me to draw a picture of you in the card"

I smiled and looked at it- it is a grotesque caricature - gorgoyle like with pop eyes and lolling tongue.

AIBU to be insulted?

it was of your ds! - I misread it as being you.

Really really odd then.

I don't think I could get upset about it - more worry as to whether she was in her right state of mind and pat her arm gently asking 'is christmas getting to you dear'.

It's just too weird to get upset about.

Not helpful at all I know, but that has lightened my mood after dd destroyed my room about 10 minutes ago.

How weird that she would draw a picture of you in the card!! When I first read it, I thought you meant the CHILD had drawn a picture like that of you, which, if the pics my kids draw of me is anything to go by, is never going to be particularly flattering!

I think I would be offended, tbh!! Get her some glasses for Christmas!
