my partner is constantly moaning about going to my parents for xmas day, yet i have to put up with a shit boxing day at her shit families.

However...... yes well spending time with relatives you don't like is all part of the rich tapestry of xmas. Next year go away. Somewhere unreachable. Lapland perhaps.

But, back to the question.

YANBU, but have you actually said to her that you don't enjoy Xmas at her family's house? If she doesn't like going to yours and vice-versa, stay at home.

Could you do breakfast or tea/supper at each house instead?
We go to DP's parent's house for breakfast xmas day, we're back home to do our own thing by about 11/12 o'clock.
