To expect my friend to make the effort to come to my house??

I know I maybe a little bit, but my friend (ds's godmother) hasnt seen him since his birthday in January.
Shes in a new relationship and Im so happy for her, and shes happy but since then Ive hardly seen her, which is fine because we're both busy.
But every time we arranbge a night out she cancels, this Xmas we'd had it planned for weeks then she txt and said 'oh sorry Ive double booked' and I wondered why she couldnt cancel the person she'd double booked me with?

So now she's bought pressies for the dc's and Ive been trying to pin her down for a week or so to meet up. She txt me today asking if I can go to her house tomorrow (half hour drive at the least, or meet halfway), I txt and explained that Im working Xmas Eve all day, have 2 kids, food shopping, wrapping for kids and ill dh to sort out. She is off work now for 2 weeks and its just her and her dp with no kids.

So AIBU to think she should make the effort to come over and see us sometime tomorrow?

YANBU - if she has purchased gifts that she wishes your dc to have then it's her responsibility to make sure the receive them. Not your responsibiity to go and get them.

And, if you've got a brave streak, next time she "double books" come right out with it and ask her why she can't cancel the person she double booked with rather than you. .

She is being totally unreasonable! Sounds as if she is v selfish and wrapped up in her own life with little time for you at the moment!

nametaken I did ask her why she couldnt cancel other person who she had doubel booked with but she didnt answer!
Anyway she has just txt me back and said she will make her way over 'seeing as you are up to your eyes in it'!
