I have been looking forward to a small christmas party this afternoon for weeks, with a few antental girls at one of their houses (locally)

DD is 11 months and her top teeth are coming through, she has been up in the night but worse, is in a bad mood today. Since 7am she has not had a sleep!! Normally she has 2 hours at lunch but instead has just screamed/cried etc so I had to "give in" and get her up.

I know it sounds silly but it has really upset me and I have even cried about this! I feel that without a nap she is going to be in a bad mood all day, and grump at the party. I think I would prefer grumpy all by ourselves (upset) at home.

Or maybe its a good distraction for her?

Anyone have experience of taking babies out who havent slept all day?!

my DD can be horrid challenging if she hasn't had a sleep. But I do find that a change of scene helps break up the whinging sessions . And if the party is with other mothers, I'm sure they understand, and pitch in to help if need be.

PS) I will go because otherwise it lets down the host. But I really dont feel like it.

I am not sure why her not sleeping has made me cry either, it just feels 'ruined'.

Thanks paddington, will see what happens. I just hate it when she is always the grumpy one, seems to work like that.
