"something smells funny daddy" - "yes it's your fat stinking bum"

I know iabu and don't care that much really, but I thought this was so sad.

I'm grumpy as I just had to haul the DC (both ill) out in coats over PJ's as the bottle of calpol I thought was unopened is actually ancient and had crystalised (vom)

It smells LOADS like garlic outside (any N Londoners know why, fire in a garlic factory?) and bless the poor girl. She was probably 8 or 9. He followed it up by quite roughly pushing her into their car.

Sigh.

DB, I am not, the dad was wrong but no big deal, the big deal is the shite posted in response. Strange, you seem to be coming back and back.. like I said, the new MN special trolling

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 18/12/2008 22:58

then why bother to post.

I know for a fact if anyone said that to my dd and she looked gutted I'd have his nuts for garters.

I think there is a difference between a put down and a joke.

yes it's the fat stinking bum that grates. I'm sure most parents call their LOs stinkybum at some point - especially when they're in nappies - but calling her fat is unnecessary and unpleasant

ScottishMummy · 18/12/2008 23:01

classic, you understand enough to respond but petty enough to point out spelling mistake.nice

DoubleBluff · 18/12/2008 23:01

I must say, I was wondering what all the fuss was about earlier. This thread is like mothercare (tame) compared to some of the really nasty threads I have read out there. Oh well, one of those hormonal nights I guess. Night all x

goldFAQinsenceandmyrrh · 18/12/2008 23:09

I really don't see what's so "crap" about it - oh sorry would she not pass her English degree with it - well fuck me didn't realise degree standard English was now a requirement for posting on MN.

If you'd bothered to read the OP (and it was perfectly clear to me - I summised itfurther up the thread if you're still struggling ).

To me it's the "fat" comment, combined with pushing her "roughly" into the car.

ScottishMummy · 18/12/2008 23:10

off with anyone head who curtseys and gushes, liberal democracy and all that.go curtsey somewhere else if you feel compelled

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 18/12/2008 23:11

accidental curtsey to scottish mummy (oh shit)

OP posts:
IwishIwasaStockingStuffer · 18/12/2008 23:13

Ooops, I wasn't being mean I was being nice curtsey in reference to something TDWP did to 2 policemen last week.

whonickedmynickname · 18/12/2008 23:14

whats a troll? sorry - I'm clearly not an oldie I'm a newbie - and assume its ok to be new and ask questions?

IAteTheWholeSelectionBox · 18/12/2008 23:18

I've come to the conclusion that it's got jack shit to do with full moons.

The rule is that MN goes nuts when the moon is ... orbiting the earth.

TheYearOfTheCat · 18/12/2008 23:22

I hate to sound like I'm sucking up, but ScottishMummy, you really are very funny sometimes.

CurlyhairedAssassin · 18/12/2008 23:22

Does anyone ever sit and look back through a thread that they've posted on, and wonder why they've let themselves get carried away reading this drivel.

I mean this in a good way. Drivel is good, keeps me sane! But really in the grand scheme of things, it's not going to save any lives, and even worse it doesn't help me get the huge pile of ironing done.

DoubleBluff · 18/12/2008 23:24

Currly - you are right, now i am thinking what did i get so botheredd for?
