to expect my dh to get paid his wages before Xmas??

Just panicking really.

However, he usually alway gets paid before Xmas and last year he got paid on the 15th of December. This year we desperately need it and I have been checking everyday for the past few days to see if its gone in the bank as we have loads of last minute shopping to do.

AIBU to expect this as its what usually happens anyway. I just don't want him to have to ask his boss.

What is his usual payday? If its the end of the month and he gets paid early at xmas as a favour from the bosses, then just ask him to ask if they will be getting paid early this year. No one will mind.

He usually gets paid around the 27th so it seems usual for them to pay early as no-one is around over Xmas to sort the pay out, which is why it usually comes through before Xmas.

I think I am just panicking myself as we still have so much to do and keep thinking it may not come!!! Which I am sure it will?!

My husbands usual pay day is on the 28th. Because of bank holidays etc he will be getting paid on the 22nd - he asked just to make sure!

I've never been paid early in any job. I'm sure I would have welcomed it - but TBH I wouldn't chase it - all it means if you're paid on the 15th, is that you've got about 7 weeks to go before January pay-day - doesn't do you any favours really.....

Don't forget there are more working days until christmas than there were last yr if you see what i mean so if his normal day is the 27th I would expect to be paid beginning of next week?

I just checked and he was paid on the 15th last year and the 20th the year before. They do usually pay him before Xmas and he is lucky that they do, altho do agree its a long time to next payday.

Mumto2 - I had to 'encourage' him repeatedly over the course of a week to get him to ask!! I too was a bit panicky!!!

I was thinking it may be next week before it comes. May get him to ask but he is the kind of person that woun't and I can't do it, lol!!

We normally get paid on 2th. Xmas it's about 20th. This year it's Monday 23rd.

Not sure when we get paid as transferred to a different compnay this year. The latest he will get paid will be 24th due to it being the first previous working day.

no you are not! my DH ALWAYS gets his wages a week or so early at xmas.. this year they decided not to do it and we were expecting it. they didnt tell us till last week, and now i haveto do all the xmas shopping on the 23rd...

i know! i am dreading it, pregnant with 2 children in a double... OMG! but it has to be done.

Oooh I don't envy you nattyturkey. Dh is on holiday as of this Friday so will leave my 3 dc's with him and go off on my own. Makes it alot easier, especially without dh, lol!!!

Lets hope its Friday pingpong, that gives me the weekend and Monday/Tuesday. Don't really want to be out on Xmas Eve if possible!!
