So what! I might be a regular, or i might not, i might have name changed, i might not. Who cares!!! Would I be better than everyone else if i admitted to being a regular here?

e.g. I'm a regular to mumsnet but I've name changed to write this stoopid message - see are you more impressed?
Well i feel much more superior now.

the equivalent of children saying "well I thought of it before you", or "me and X have been frinds longer then you" Maybe IABU but i hate it!

I think people who name change then state they are a regular, are just meaning they are not a troll.

HuwEdwards · 16/12/2008 13:29

Have you nothing better to do?

Simplysally · 16/12/2008 13:29

In case they are suspected of trollery, esp if it is a contentious message as someone will probably search on their name for previous 'form' if you like.

fartychristmaspants · 16/12/2008 13:31

"I think people who name change then state they are a regular, are just meaning they are not a troll."

But if you were a troll, wouldn't you say that anyway to try to make it look more authentic?!

I'm regular too

I go once a day, always same time, just after tea

whoingodsnameami · 16/12/2008 13:32

Yes, they would say that anyway, because that is what someone who is'nt a troll would say.

I dont rearly see the big deal tbh.

beanieb · 16/12/2008 13:33

I name change to talk about stuff I can't admit to or say out loud or which might make other posters get all judgemental on my arse.

Simplysally · 16/12/2008 13:33

is it big then?

nickytinseltimes · 16/12/2008 13:34

And does it sink or float, vt?

beanieb · 16/12/2008 13:35

whoingodsnameami · 16/12/2008 13:38

whoingodsnameami · 16/12/2008 13:44

I was only kidding, incase you are all sat patiently waiting for a new thread

justneedsomesleeppleasesanta · 16/12/2008 13:54

i'm not regular...people never recognise my name.....hope to become a regular....can I pleeeease join?

TinselianAstra · 16/12/2008 13:58

Is it cos we is supposed to be respectful to old regulars, like? And tell them they ANBU even if they are?

YANBU, if I were trolling I would definitely start with, 'I've namechanged because I'm a bit embarrassed about this, but...'

TinselianAstra · 16/12/2008 13:59

I do the c&p thing - I hate with when people respond to something in a busy thread without making it clear who they are agreeing/disagreeing with.

piscesmoon · 16/12/2008 13:59

Is your view more important if you are a regular then?!

daftpunk · 16/12/2008 14:01

christmas gets to everyone...it's ok
