Am a nurse and have to pay £76 a year to the Nursing and Midwifery Council in order to keep my registration. Without my registration I cannot practice, so would be unable to work.

Filled in the forms for this year, wrote the cheque etc and put it in the envelope provided by the NMC.

Realised it needed a stamp - surely a bit of the £76 I pay them yearly could provide a stamped addressed envelope.

So AIBU.

YANBU, because I am sure that if you had to send something that required a reply you'd have to provide a SAE!

YANBU.

It is shite that the NMC make murses pay for thier own registration.

Thanks for the replies. Have chilled out now with a nice glass of wine. Just hate having to pay £76 just before xmas.

YANBU but they wont change. set up a direct debit for next year. (ps am in the same boat and it sucks that the fees have gone up to annual £76 instead of £80somthing every 3 yrs)
