To want to feel the love on MN?

I've used the same internet forum ever since I first started ttc, all the way through pregnancy and since DS was born. However I've found the actual advice on the baby bit very dodgy particularly when it comes to bfing and weaning. So I started coming on MN to get sensible answers to parenting questions but carried on using the other forum socially as it's a bit cosier and more homely. I have to confess that I've even called people 'honey' when the situation called for it . I draw the line at 'hunni' though - I have some standards.

Anyway I fear no-one will be calling me honey or any variations again as I've been a little too effusive about my opinions. I've tried very hard to be polite about a lot of things which I can't really agree with but I'm really sick of people being unable to discuss facts without complaining about their feelings being hurt.

So I've decided to stop lurking and actually join in on MN. I realise that most of what I love about it is that people are totally direct and honest a lot of the time so this is a totally unreasonable request but I'm going to ask anyway.

Anyone for a virtual group hug?

I'm not a hugger.

But I will proffer my hand for a shake.

LynetteScavo · 14/12/2008 21:23

I'm not into group hugs - but I'll buy you a virtual drink.

Hugs are reserved for special events, so I suppose a welcoming pat on the back is appropriate.
Welcome!

I have already helped myself to a very real beer but I may have to indulge in virtual G&T as well. It hits a certain spot...

Can I just check which bits of you are covered in snot before I get too close? Anyone else contagious before I go too far?
